In August 2023, the average spectacle glass lenses import price amounted to $19.4 per unit, picking up by 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% against the previous month. The import price peaked in August 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($74.5 per unit), while the price for Ireland ($8.8 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average spectacle glass lenses export price amounted to $31.9 per unit, with an increase of 3.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a modest increase from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, spectacle glass lenses export price decreased by -39.1% against March 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 61% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $52.4 per unit. From April 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
