The average starch; manioc (cassava) import price stood at $1,043 per ton in 2022, increasing by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 14%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,253 per ton), while the price for Cambodia ($583 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The export price peaked at $3,875 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,314 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,235 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+16.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
