In August 2023, the average starches; inulin export price amounted to $757 per ton, with a decrease of -8.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 8.3% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $887 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,079 per ton), while the average price for exports to Honduras ($492 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($2,692 per ton), while the price for Paraguay ($537 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
