Sugar Beet Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sugar beet export price amounted to $78 per ton, dropping by -33.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a sharp setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 87%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $910 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($442 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic stood at $60 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (-7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Sugar Beet Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of sugar beet, when their volume decreased by -56.3% to 733 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 136%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.7K tons, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
