Sugary Soft Drink Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average sugary soft drink export price stood at $792 per thousand litres in July 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 15% month-to-month. The export price peaked in July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1.4 per litre), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($262 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sugary Soft Drink Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average sugary soft drink import price amounted to $1.3 per litre, with an increase of 5.1% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 18% m-o-m. The import price peaked in July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2.0 per litre), while the price for the Czech Republic ($453 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sugary Soft Drink Exports in Poland
In 2022, the amount of sugary soft drinks exported from Poland reached 1B litres, surging by 6.2% against 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +19.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +71.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, sugary soft drink exports expanded markedly to $596M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +79.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In general, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +23.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +90.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, sugary soft drink imports expanded remarkably to $209M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +78.9% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 41%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
