The average sulphates; of copper import price stood at $2,652 per ton in March 2022, with an increase of 1.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2021 an increase of 8.9% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in March 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($5,287 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,462 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+19.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($964 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia totaled $816 per ton.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 15% against the previous year.

In value terms, sulphates; of copper exports shrank modestly to $160K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
