In March 2023, the average sulphides; of sodium import price amounted to $757 per ton, with a decrease of -6.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 43% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,271 per ton. From February 2023 to March 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,418 per ton), while the price for Iran ($602 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average sulphides; of sodium export price amounted to $1,026 per ton, rising by 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $1,065 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Tunisia ($1,069 per ton) and Burkina Faso ($1,020 per ton), while the average price for exports to Albania ($802 per ton) and Morocco ($1,019 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+21.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
