In 2022, the average sulphides; polysulphides import price amounted to $1,422 per ton, with an increase of 51% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sulphides; polysulphides import price increased by +75.9% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($1,545 per ton) and China ($1,302 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,032 per ton) and Mexico ($1,151 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 36% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $8,067 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($7,335 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($1,255 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Sulphides; Polysulphides Imports in Brazil
In 2022, approx. 17K tons of sulphides; polysulphideses were imported into Brazil; declining by -18.9% against the previous year. Overall, imports recorded a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 34%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 21K tons, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
