In August 2023, the average sulphites; thiosulphates import price amounted to $572 per ton, with an increase of 13% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $648 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,029 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($317 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
