Suspension System Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average suspension system import price amounted to $3,028 per ton, with an increase of 3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 70% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,146 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($14,237 per ton), while the price for Poland ($631 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Suspension System Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
The average suspension system export price stood at $4,582 per ton in August 2023, growing by 7.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 119% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $11,470 per ton. From October 2022 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($10,077 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($843 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Suspension System Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, approx. 29K tons of suspension systems were imported into the Netherlands; falling by -7.2% on the previous year. Overall, imports showed a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 31K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, suspension system imports reduced to $258M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 28%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $266M, and then fell slightly in the following year.

Suspension System Exports in the Netherlands
For the fourth year in a row, the Netherlands recorded growth in shipments abroad of suspension systems, which increased by 4.7% to 17K tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +62.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 40%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, suspension system exports contracted to $220M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $222M, leveling off in the following year.
