Sweet Biscuit Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average sweet biscuit export price stood at $4,067 per ton in August 2023, dropping by -4.7% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 12% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,292 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($4,964 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($3,276 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sweet Biscuit Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average sweet biscuit import price amounted to $3,416 per ton, which is down by -1.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 24% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,476 per ton in July 2023, and then reduced slightly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($5,123 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($299 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sweet Biscuit Exports in Poland
For the fourth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in shipments abroad of sweet biscuits, which increased by 0.6% to 120K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, sweet biscuit exports expanded to $385M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
