Swine; Live Price in Denmark (FOB) - 2023

In August 2023, the average swine; live export price amounted to $253 per unit, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 43% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $257 per unit in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Spain ($290 per unit) and Italy ($272 per unit), while the average price for exports to Poland ($230 per unit) and Croatia ($243 per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
