The average swine; live import price stood at $363 per unit in 2022, picking up by 8.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 110% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $981 per unit. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($437 per unit), while the price for Kenya amounted to $58 per unit.
