Synthetic Filament Tow Price in Egypt (CIF) - 2022
The average synthetic filament tow import price stood at $3,253 per ton in 2022, growing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,324 per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from China ($3,265 per ton) and Portugal ($3,256 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($3,256 per ton) and South Korea ($3,256 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
