The average tapioca and substitutes import price stood at $3,796 per ton in June 2023, with an increase of 41% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed a measured expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 63% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,835 per ton in July 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($6,511 per ton), while the price for the United States totaled $2,816 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average tapioca and substitutes export price stood at $4,906 per ton in 2022, jumping by 52% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed resilient growth.
