Temporarily Preserved Vegetable Price in Slovenia (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average temporarily preserved vegetable import price amounted to $854 per ton, dropping by -55.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 97% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,917 per ton, and then contracted remarkably in the following month.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Italy.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Spain amounted to +6.5% per month.
Temporarily Preserved Vegetable Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2022
The average temporarily preserved vegetable export price stood at $9,273 per ton in 2022, growing by 60% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild reduction. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $15,644 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,773 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia totaled $1,835 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Temporarily Preserved Vegetable Imports in Slovenia
In 2022, approx. 609 tons of vegetables (temporarily preserved) were imported into Slovenia; leveling off at the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, temporarily preserved vegetable imports dropped to $529K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 36%.

Overall, exports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 1,673% against the previous year.
In value terms, temporarily preserved vegetable exports shrank dramatically to $87K in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 1,266%.
