In October 2023, the average triticale export price amounted to $547 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 26% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $746 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
From December 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to +0.8% per month.
Triticale Price in Canada (CIF) - 2022
The average triticale import price stood at $831 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 61% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 69%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,610 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($827 per ton), while the price for New Zealand amounted to $818 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+5.4%).
Triticale Exports in Canada
Triticale exports from Canada skyrocketed to 5.5K tons in 2022, rising by 15% against the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.
