Turkey Meat Price in South Africa (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average turkey meat import price amounted to $1,901 per ton, declining by -2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 22% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,077 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($2,017 per ton), while the price for Chile ($1,448 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Turkey Meat Price in South Africa (FOB) - 2022
The average turkey meat export price stood at $2,396 per ton in 2022, jumping by 31% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Zimbabwe (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
