Turkey Meat Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average turkey meat import price amounted to $4,252 per ton, dropping by -3.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 9.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,632 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($5,876 per ton), while the price for Italy ($3,059 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Turkey Meat Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average turkey meat export price amounted to $4,319 per ton, with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 27%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($8,273 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($3,723 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Turkey Meat Imports in the Czech Republic
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of turkey meat decreased by -1.1% to 20K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9.3%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 20K tons, and then fell modestly in the following year.
In value terms, turkey meat imports rose notably to $82M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 26%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
