Turkey Meat Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average turkey meat import price amounted to $690 per ton, shrinking by -30.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $991 per ton in July 2023, and then declined dramatically in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,200 per ton), while the price for Poland ($652 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Turkey Meat Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
The average turkey meat export price stood at $3,653 per ton in August 2023, dropping by -1.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 10% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $5,014 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Moldova ($4,197 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($1,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cameroon (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Turkey Meat Imports in Ukraine
In 2022, turkey meat imports into Ukraine contracted markedly to 3.5K tons, shrinking by -51.4% compared with the year before. In general, imports recorded a significant decrease. The smallest decline of -1% was in 2021.
In value terms, turkey meat imports contracted notably to $2.6M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 19%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.3M, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

For the fourth year in a row, Ukraine recorded growth in shipments abroad of turkey meat, which increased by 527% to 3.8K tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded significant growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
