Uncured Cheese Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023
In November 2023, the average uncured cheese export price amounted to $4,549 per ton, picking up by 2.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $5,456 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($9,134 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($2,078 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Uncured Cheese Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023
In November 2023, the average uncured cheese import price amounted to $4,891 per ton, shrinking by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,022 per ton in October 2023, and then fell in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($6,284 per ton), while the price for Poland ($3,108 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Uncured Cheese Exports in Lithuania
In 2022, the amount of unripened or uncured cheese exported from Lithuania totaled 38K tons, rising by 12% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, uncured cheese exports surged to $212M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +72.6% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
