Uncured Cheese Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average uncured cheese import price amounted to $3,955 per ton, growing by 1.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 9.8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,577 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($5,676 per ton), while the price for Germany ($3,210 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Uncured Cheese Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average uncured cheese export price amounted to $4,211 per ton, falling by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 8.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $4,399 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,248 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($3,364 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Uncured Cheese Imports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, the amount of unripened or uncured cheese imported into the Czech Republic contracted slightly to 31K tons, remaining stable against 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 4.7%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 31K tons, leveling off in the following year.
In value terms, uncured cheese imports expanded markedly to $118M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 15%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Uncured Cheese Exports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, overseas shipments of unripened or uncured cheese decreased by -5.6% to 24K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +49.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 34%.
In value terms, uncured cheese exports reduced modestly to $91M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +68.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 44% against the previous year.
