Unsaturated Monohydric Alcohols Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
The average unsaturated monohydric alcohols export price stood at $6,021 per ton in 2022, surging by 29% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, unsaturated monohydric alcohols export price increased by +36.7% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 33%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($10,732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($2,487 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 99% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $12,680 per ton in June 2023, and then fell markedly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($22,093 per ton), while the price for Japan ($2,666 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Unsaturated Monohydric Alcohols Exports in the Netherlands
In 2022, overseas shipments of unsaturated monohydric alcohols decreased by -50.6% to 6.4K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 101% against the previous year.
