Vanilla Price in Pakistan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average vanilla import price amounted to $2,226 per ton, with an increase of 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 80% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,736 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($31,165 per ton), while the price for the United States totaled $516 per ton.
From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+45.0%).
Vanilla Imports in Pakistan
Vanilla imports into Pakistan amounted to 212 kg in 2022, surging by 3.4% against 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 46%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 219 kg. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, vanilla imports rose rapidly to $472 in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $515. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
