The average vanilla import price stood at $286K per ton in June 2023, rising by 6.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 76% against the previous month. The import price peaked in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($331K per ton), while the price for the United States ($87,337 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Vanilla Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average vanilla export price amounted to $387,029 per ton, dropping by -16.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 295%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $569,250 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($410,390 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($120,620 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+188.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Vanilla imports into Poland declined notably to 47 tons in 2022, which is down by -16.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports faced a sharp descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 2%.
In value terms, vanilla imports fell rapidly to $9.1M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a abrupt contraction. Vanilla Exports in Poland
For the third year in a row, Poland recorded decline in overseas shipments of vanilla, which decreased by -24.2% to 17 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports faced a dramatic contraction.
In value terms, vanilla exports fell remarkably to $6.8M in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 14%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $15M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
