Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
The average vinegar-preserved vegetable import price stood at $1,792 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 14% month-to-month. The import price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Peru ($3,379 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,140 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Price in the UK (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average vinegar-preserved vegetable export price amounted to $3,463 per ton, increasing by 4% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2022 an increase of 23% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($7,574 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($1,728 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Imports in the UK
After two years of decline, overseas purchases of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes increased by 3.4% to 105K tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a noticeable shrinkage.
In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports rose slightly to $156M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable reduction.

Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Exports in the UK
In 2022, shipments abroad of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes decreased by -2.6% to 6.3K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 2.5%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 7.6K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable exports fell to $18M in 2022. In general, exports saw a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 10% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $22M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
