Vitamin Price in Oman (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average vitamin import price amounted to $11,072 per ton, which is down by -2.3% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, vitamin import price increased by +15.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $14,355 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($35,153 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($3,313 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Vitamin Price in Oman (FOB) - 2022

The average vitamin export price stood at $5,382 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 274%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $26,372 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($11,300 per ton), while the average price for exports to Yemen ($2,727 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Vitamin Imports in Oman

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of provitamins and vitamins decreased by -3% to 284 tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 31%.

In value terms, vitamin imports contracted to $3.1M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 45%.

Vitamin Exports in Oman

In 2022, overseas shipments of provitamins and vitamins decreased by -38.6% to 15 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 556% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 24 tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.

In value terms, vitamin exports contracted sharply to $79K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 194% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $135K, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
