Walnut Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022
The average walnut import price stood at $2,800 per ton in 2022, growing by 1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 25%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,923 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,518 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,461 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average walnut export price stood at $2,516 per ton in 2022, reducing by -3.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5,560 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($4,525 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($2,100 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (-0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Walnut Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, purchases abroad of walnuts was finally on the rise to reach 231 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, faced a deep slump.
