The average waxes; artificial, prepared import price stood at $3,724 per ton in 2022, increasing by 9.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. The import price peaked at $4,961 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($5,632 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($2,164 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
