Wheat Gluten Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
The average wheat gluten import price stood at $1,425 per ton in 2022, growing by 32% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, wheat gluten import price increased by +47.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($2,788 per ton), while the price for India ($91 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Wheat Gluten Imports in Indonesia
In 2022, purchases abroad of wheat gluten decreased by -12.7% to 3.9K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 16%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wheat gluten imports skyrocketed to $5.6M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
