Wheat Gluten Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average wheat gluten export price amounted to $3,191 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a tangible expansion from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, wheat gluten export price decreased by -10.5% against May 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 18% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $3,566 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($4,088 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($1,929 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wheat Gluten Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average wheat gluten import price amounted to $3,004 per ton, falling by -1.7% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated moderate growth from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, wheat gluten import price decreased by -11.2% against May 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 50% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,383 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,670 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($1,823 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wheat Gluten Exports in Poland
In 2022, approx. 50K tons of wheat gluten were exported from Poland; with an increase of 5.8% on 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 58K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wheat gluten exports surged to $102M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +67.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 34%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
