The average winding wire export price stood at $14,446 per ton in August 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $14,583 per ton in July 2023, and then shrank modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($53,167 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($10,178 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Winding Wire Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average winding wire import price amounted to $10,159 per ton, waning by -16.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12,118 per ton, and then declined sharply in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($12,761 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($6,721 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
