Winding Wire Price in South Africa (FOB) - 2023
The average winding wire export price stood at $7,998 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 33% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 302% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $29,437 per ton. From January 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Zimbabwe ($34,409 per ton), while the average price for exports to Swaziland ($1,694 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Zimbabwe (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
