Wire and Cable Price in the Philippines (FOB) - 2023
The average wire and cable export price stood at $16,115 per ton in May 2023, increasing by 8.4% against the previous month. Over the period from May 2022 to May 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in May 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($27,597 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($12,781 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average wire and cable import price stood at $11,655 per ton in May 2023, waning by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the period from May 2022 to May 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 an increase of 16% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $12,335 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to May 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($22,381 per ton), while the price for China ($7,934 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
