Wood Charcoal Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
The average wood charcoal export price stood at $770 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 6.4% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Norway ($887 per ton) and Finland ($875 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($686 per ton) and Denmark ($745 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood Charcoal Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022
The average wood charcoal import price stood at $452 per ton in 2022, picking up by 16% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 17% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($595 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($237 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood Charcoal Exports in Poland
In 2022, overseas shipments of wood charcoal decreased by -19.9% to 119K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 29%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 169K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wood charcoal exports fell to $92M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 36%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $114M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, wood charcoal imports reduced to $38M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 1.2% against the previous year.
