In August 2023, the average wood; clothes hangers import price amounted to $4,877 per ton, picking up by 1.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,060 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Poland ($5,520 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($4,840 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($3,910 per ton) and China ($4,484 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $8,449 per ton in July 2023, and then contracted sharply in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($11,734 per ton), while the average price for exports to Libya ($676 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
