Wood-Based Panels Price in India (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average wood-based panels import price amounted to $579 per cubic meter, rising by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 36%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($799 per cubic meter), while the price for Thailand ($296 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Gabon (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood-Based Panels Price in India (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average wood-based panels export price amounted to $520 per cubic meter, with a decrease of -5.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $916 per cubic meter in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($967 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($250 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+36.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood-Based Panels Imports in India
In 2022, wood-based panels imports into India stood at 870K cubic meters, leveling off at the previous year. In general, imports, however, saw a deep downturn.
