Wrapping Papers Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average wrapping papers export price amounted to $820 per ton, with a decrease of -12.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 13% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,030 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($1,493 per ton), while the average price for exports to Greece ($461 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wrapping Papers Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2023
The average wrapping papers import price stood at $2,086 per ton in July 2023, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 14% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,439 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,500 per ton), while the price for Austria ($1,393 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wrapping Papers Exports in Brazil
In 2022, wrapping papers exports from Brazil surged to 186K tons, picking up by 37% against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
