In 2022, the average yarn; of coir import price amounted to $3,167 per ton, surging by 25% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 46%. The import price peaked at $5,191 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
