Yoghurt Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average yoghurt export price amounted to $1,206 per ton, waning by -12.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 35% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,682 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($2,036 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bolivia ($271 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Angola (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Yoghurt Price in Peru (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average yoghurt import price amounted to $2,081 per ton, which is down by -37.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 206%. The import price peaked at $3,309 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($4,449 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,842 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (-2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Yoghurt Exports in Peru
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of yoghurt decreased by -3.8% to 199 tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 24%.
In value terms, yoghurt exports declined dramatically to $240K in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +26.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 46%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $284K, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

Yoghurt Imports in Peru
In 2022, supplies from abroad of yoghurt decreased by -12.7% to 30 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 233%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 34 tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, yoghurt imports shrank remarkably to $63K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 918%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $114K, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
