Yoghurt Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average yoghurt export price amounted to $1,909 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $2,867 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to China ($1,915 per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,915 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,805 per ton) and the Philippines ($1,857 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Yoghurt Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average yoghurt import price stood at $1,747 per ton in 2022, declining by -4.6% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, yoghurt import price increased by +67.3% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 46% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,831 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($1,775 per ton) and China ($1,775 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,568 per ton) and Indonesia ($1,601 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Yoghurt Exports in Vietnam
In 2022, overseas shipments of yoghurt decreased by -6.4% to 7.1K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 333%.
In value terms, yoghurt exports fell to $14M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 348% against the previous year.

Yoghurt Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, purchases abroad of yoghurt decreased by -5.3% to 5.1K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 12%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 5.4K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, yoghurt imports dropped to $8.9M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $9.8M, and then reduced in the following year.
