Tanzania represented the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded X% of total exports. Kenya (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Uganda (X%) and Mauritania (X%). The following exporters - Senegal (X tons), Morocco (X tons) and Namibia (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to dried or salted fish exports from Tanzania stood at X%. At the same time, Kenya (X%), Morocco (X%) and Mauritania (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kenya emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Senegal and Namibia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2015 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dried or salted fish imports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Morocco (X tons) and Rwanda (X tons) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2023.
