In value terms, bottled water exports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Overall, exports enjoyed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
In 2023, Malaysia (X litres) represented the major exporter of bottled waters, mixing up X% of total exports. Thailand (X litres) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Indonesia (X litres). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Thailand (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Bottled water imports amounted to X litres in 2023, picking up by X% against the previous year. Total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports into Singapore increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, the Philippines (X%), Vietnam (X%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (X%), Malaysia (X%), Thailand (X%) and Cambodia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. The Philippines (X p.p.), Vietnam (X p.p.), Malaysia (X p.p.) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Singapore saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
