Exports from Canada

In 2021, approx. X cubic meters of MDF were exported from Canada; rising by 1.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -5.5% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 25%. The exports peaked at X cubic meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The import price peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Chile ($X per cubic meter) and Argentina ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Austria ($X per cubic meter) and Germany ($X per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
