Kazakhstan represented the key exporting country with an export of about X litres, which reached X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X litres), achieving a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to beer exports from Kazakhstan stood at X%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Imports in Central Asia

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of beer decreased by X% to X litres in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X litres. From 2019 to 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, beer imports contracted to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Kazakhstan was the key importer of beer in Central Asia, with the volume of imports amounting to X litres, which was near X% of total imports in 2023. Mongolia (X litres) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X%). Tajikistan (X litres) held a little share of total imports.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the beer imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. Mongolia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Kyrgyzstan (X%) and Tajikistan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Kazakhstan increased by X percentage points.
