In value terms, wood fuel exports contracted to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2022, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports by Country
Kyrgyzstan represented the largest exporter of wood fuel in Central Asia, with the volume of exports reaching X cubic meters, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Tajikistan (X cubic meters) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Uzbekistan (X%).

In 2023, approx. X cubic meters of wood fuel were imported in Central Asia; waning by X% compared with 2022 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wood fuel imports declined sharply to $X in 2023. Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant decrease.
