Imports in CIS

After three years of decline, supplies from abroad of egg products increased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, imports posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, egg product imports rose markedly to $X in 2023. In general, imports showed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2023 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the main importing country with an import of about X tons, which resulted at X% of total imports. Belarus (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (X%), Uzbekistan (X%) and Moldova (X%). Kyrgyzstan (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to egg product imports into Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%), Kyrgyzstan (X%), Moldova (X%), Kazakhstan (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
