The East European cabbage market reduced to $X in 2023, dropping by X% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of X%), while production for the other leaders experienced a decline in the production figures.

The average cabbage yield amounted to X tons per ha in 2023, flattening at the previous year. Overall, the yield recorded a slight increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of yield peaked at X tons per ha in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the yield remained at a lower figure. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.

The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Poland represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), comprising an X% share of total exports. Hungary (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Latvia (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Poland decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Belarus (X%), Romania (X%), Moldova (X%) and Latvia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Hungary (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Belarus, Romania, Latvia and Moldova increased by X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest cabbage supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a X% share.
