In value terms, mate exports soared to $X in 2023. Overall, exports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The Czech Republic dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), making up a X% share of total exports. Russia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The Czech Republic was also the fastest-growing in terms of the mate exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Russia (X%) and Poland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of the Czech Republic (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2023, the share of Russia (X p.p.) and Poland (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In the Czech Republic, mate exports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2023. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Poland (X% per year) and Russia (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2023, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, picking up by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a perceptible descent. Imports in Eastern Europe

In 2023, purchases abroad of mate decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after six years of growth. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mate imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, saw a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2023, the Czech Republic (X tons) represented the largest importer of mate, comprising X% of total imports. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Poland (X%), Bulgaria (X%) and Hungary (X%). Romania (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to mate imports into the Czech Republic stood at X%. At the same time, Bulgaria (X%), Hungary (X%), Lithuania (X%) and Romania (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
