In general, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable product imports reached $X in 2023. Overall, imports recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

China (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of vegetable product imports to Egypt, with a combined X% share of total imports. Tunisia, Cyprus and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
